The quantities listed are enough for 4 to 6 people, depending on the appetizers you serve.

Ingredients (for 4-6 people):

- 600-800 g of hake fillets or steaks (cut into large pieces)

- 12 peeled shrimp

- 3 cloves of garlic, minced

- 1 medium onion, chopped

- 100 ml of white wine

- 200 ml of fish stock

- 1 tablespoon of flour

- A generous handful of fresh parsley, chopped

- Extra virgin olive oil

- Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:

1. Season the main ingredients:

Season the hake pieces and peeled shrimp with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

2. Prepare the base of the sauce:

In a wide saucepan, heat a little extra virgin olive oil over medium heat.

Add the minced garlic and sauté lightly, stirring to prevent burning.

Add the chopped onion and a pinch of salt. Cook over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onion is translucent and tender.

3. Thicken the sauce:

Add 1 tablespoon of flour to the onion and mix well. Cook for 5 minutes to allow the flour to integrate and lose its raw flavor.

Pour in the white wine and let it boil over high heat for 5 minutes to allow the alcohol to evaporate.

Add the fish stock and mix well until no lumps remain.

4. Incorporate the parsley and fish:

Add a generous amount of fresh chopped parsley to the broth and mix.

Place the hake pieces in the saucepan, skin side up. Cover and cook for 5 minutes.

After this time, flip the hake pieces, cover again, and cook for another 5 minutes.

5. Add the shrimp:

When there are 2-3 minutes left of cooking, add the peeled shrimp. Gently mix and cover the saucepan to let the shrimp cook in the heat of the sauce.

6. Finish and serve:

Remove the saucepan from the heat and sprinkle a little more fresh chopped parsley on top.

Serve the hake in shrimp sauce directly on individual plates or in a shared serving dish. Pair with white rice, boiled potatoes, or simply with bread to enjoy the delicious sauce.

This hake in shrimp sauce is a simple, budget-friendly, and flavorful dish. The combination of hake, shrimp, and the aromatic sauce with garlic, onion, and parsley creates a spectacular result that will impress your guests.
